Work and clients: Shane is an entrepreneurial deal maker using his accountancy background to advise on general audit and accounts preparation and undertake strategic business planning and capital markets advice for high growth enterprises. He heads up our financial services team and also advises on shareholder and employee incentive schemes.
The route to Shipleys: Trained with Arthur Andersen. Joined Shipleys in 1988, becoming a principal in 1992.
Memberships: Irish Chartered Accountant. Member of the Corporate Finance Faculty of the Institute of Chartered Accountants England & Wales.
Aim: "Creating additional value for entrepreneurial clients."
Most entertaining deal or case: "Achieving substantial proceeds (about twice the client’s own valuation!) for the sale of a business which, using traditional valuation methods, had limited intrinsic value. The business is a continuing success and is now part of a £40m group."
Proudest professional moments: "Organising a business turnaround for a major steel trading business, including co-ordinating the business downsizing, arranging finance and new equity for the resurgent new business."
