Alex works with a wide range of private clients, supporting them with many tax compliance and advisory services. His clients include sole-traders, directors of owner-managed businesses and high-net-worth individuals. In helping them, Alex covers a wide variety of personal tax issues. His expertise includes taxation in relation to profit extraction, property income and tax residency matters. He also advises on Inheritance Tax and Capital Gains Tax issues including Crypto Assets.
Alex joined Shipleys as a trainee in the Summer of 2017, after graduating from the University of Kent. He gained his tax qualifications while working at the firm, and in January 2023 was promoted to Tax Supervisor. In January 2024, Alex was promoted to Tax Manager.
Alex is a member of the Association of Taxation Technicians.
Alex greatly enjoys the challenge of simplifying the tax system into a way clients can understand, and helping them to alleviate the stress of tax compliance. He builds strong professional relationships with his clients, and this enables him to tailor advice and tax planning to their specific situations and plans.
Outside of work, Alex has two main passions - motorsport and football. With the latter, he greatly enjoys supporting his favourite team - Chelsea FC - each week.
