Aim: "To help the principals to look after and win the right type of clients"
Most entertaining deal or case: "Tough choice. Either riding round the city in the back of a taxi with executed stock transfer forms and the original share certificates in my pocket worth about £12.5M – worrying that they might somehow get lost. Or the meeting where the first question asked by the aggressive banker to whom my client had given extensive personal guarantees (which had been called in) was one we had anticipated and rehearsed the day before!"
Proudest professional moments: "Finding out that a client for whom I had solved a difficult tax problem had gone back to the office and taken all the staff to the winebar opposite for the remainder of the day to celebrate."
What I like about my job: "Bringing projects and people together so that the whole is greater than the individual parts"
Interests outside work: Stuart enjoys playing badminton, a bit of table tennis and shooting. He's keen on cars and motorbikes, normally commuting by motorbike and regularly taking his car or bikes on track. He's restoring 'potential classics' from the 70's and 80's, and gives up some of his time to help people prepare for their advanced driving test with road safety charity IAM Roadsmart.
