Shipleys LLP announces new Managing Principal

London and Godalming-based chartered accountants and business advisors, Shipleys LLP, has announced the appointment of Steve Foster as their new Managing Principal.

1 November 2021

In his new role, Steve Foster will lead the firm’s strategic direction and overall management. He will also oversee the development of its people and ensure its top-quality client service is maintained.

Steve takes over from Simon Robinson, who steps down after six years in the role to return full-time to client work.

Steve trained and qualified with Baker Tilly and then spent six years as director of finance at a London-based media business. Returning to practice, he was appointed a partner of Pridie Brewster, which subsequently merged with PKF in January 2007. Steve joined Shipleys LLP as a Principal in January 2008.

Steve advises a diverse portfolio of clients ranging from ambitious start-ups to public companies. His wide-ranging experience includes sectors such as property, automotive, information technology and media.

As well as attending to statutory compliance matters, Steve enjoys helping owner managed businesses achieve their growth objectives – particularly in the areas of purchasing another business, expanding current operations, securing funding to enter new markets and formulating an effective exit strategy.

Commenting on the change, Simon Robinson said, “It has been a real privilege to have led the firm through a period of growth, but having completed my second term as Managing Principal, I am now looking forward to returning full-time to client work.  As many businesses would testify, the past 18 months have been quite a challenge. It’s reassuring that the firm has maintained a strong position and, looking forward, it is certainly in good hands.”

Steve Foster added, “I and my fellow Principals are very grateful to Simon for his hard work as Managing Principal for the last 6 years. I am greatly looking forward to further building on Shipleys’ success to date and guiding the firm in its future development.  It’s an exciting time for the firm as we support clients as they adapt to the post-pandemic landscape. Our focus will remain to help clients thrive and it’s a privilege to take on this leadership position.”
