Expertise: Business compliance services, business tax planning, company secretarial services.

Work and Clients: Sue’s work includes not just accounts, audit and tax but also some turnaround work and forensic accounting. She is not afraid of getting involved in the real detail and specialises in owner-managed businesses, partnerships and pension schemes.

The route to Shipleys: Trained with Baker Tilly before moving on to Hayes MacIntyre and joining Rothman Pantall in 1987 where she became a Partner in 1989. The London office of Rothman Pantall merged with Shipleys in 2007.

Memberships: Institute of Chartered Accounts in England & Wales, Tax & Audit faculties.

Most entertaining deal or case: “There have been so many it's difficult to pick one!”

What I like about my job: “That my advice is valued by my clients.”

Proudest professional moments: “Getting the tax affairs of a really complicated partnership with 15 partners up to date. They were in a real mess and the tax for the previous 11 years had not been sorted out!”

Interests outside work: Sue lives in London and Portsmouth. She is keen on Scuba diving, but only in warm water so this is a major influence on where she holidays. She also enjoys exploring the world’s remoter places, sailing, the theatre and has recently taken up golf.
